The Role:

We are looking for a highly experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to oversee all aspects of our Chromite Beneficiation Plant. You will be responsible for the entire operation, from ore receipt and processing to the production of high-grade chromite concentrate, ensuring it meets production, quality, safety, and financial targets. This is a challenging and rewarding leadership role for a hands-on professional with deep expertise in mineral processing.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership: Provide overall direction and management for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the beneficiation plant (crushing, milling, gravity separation, spirals, etc.).

Production Management: Develop and execute production plans to meet or exceed throughput, recovery, and product quality targets. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions.

Safety & Compliance: Champion a zero-harm culture. Ensure full compliance with all company safety standards, Zimbabwean environmental regulations, and other legal requirements.

Maintenance & Reliability: Oversee both preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize plant availability and reliability while controlling costs.

Financial Management: Manage the plant's operating and capital budgets. Identify and implement initiatives to reduce operating costs and improve profitability.

Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of supervisors, metallurgists, engineers, and operators. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with mining, geology, maintenance, and logistics departments to ensure seamless integrated operations.

Technical Problem-Solving: Provide expert troubleshooting and resolve complex technical and operational issues promptly.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in mineral processing, with at least 5-7 years in a senior management role (e.g., Plant Manager, Superintendent) within a concentrator or beneficiation plant.

Essential: Proven, hands-on experience with Chromite processing and beneficiation techniques (e.g., spiral concentrators, shaking tables, jigs, magnetic separation).

Strong background in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control.

In-depth knowledge of safety and environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).

Experience working in Africa, particularly Southern Africa or Zimbabwe, is a significant advantage.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
